Steenbergen has traditionally been a trading town that has grown thanks to salt production. In the 16th century, Steenbergen became part of the West Brabant Waterline and became an important fortified town.
It is currently best known for being one of the gems of the Brabantse Wal. De Brabantse Wal is a striking landscape located in West Brabant, on the border with Zeeland and Belgium. Due to its central location, the area offers something for everyone.
